Look what's atop the Metro

It is nervous and doesn't hang around long.

This is a pied magpie or currawong. Natty, as ravenous in beak and claw as its cousins, but an entirely different disposition. A more agitated sort of bird, far easily spooked than the others. Pieds seem to mount a big challenge every so often for the currawongs territory. Their brief reign on stolen currawong territory down along Victoria St a couple of years ago is well documented.

Rosy reflections

6:45 am.

Moon tries to set, tree won't let

6:40 to 6:44 am. Looking south west.

Exquisite sunset

4:48 to 4:52 pm. Part 1. Delicate colours and moody hues.

Moody or what?

5:27 to 5:29 pm. Part 2. The bat speckled wide dark blue yonder.

Dawn of Many Colours

6:51 to 6:59 am. Looking west as usual, opposite the sunrise. Starts out with Turner skies, intense luminescence.

Looking north west. The north pylons and tiniest start of the arch of the harbour bridge are visible just to the right of the building on the left.

Fading quickly now, just a light dusting of colour.

6:54 am. The sky drama is over and reflections of a city are powering up.

At 6:59 am, whammo . . full bore.
