A new season starts

Fly on a warm brick wall

I had no idea if they would turn out, since the subject was out of reach down the wall. Anything so small needs a judicious combination of physical distance - close but not too close, with about half the available analogue zoom. Although these snaps of Louisa are not quite as sharp as those of Louie when he looked in, they are just as interesting.

It looks like egg laying to me.

A small shy spider

Another one only shot. It was small, suspicious and never kept still. The markings are interesting - are those camouflage white eyes on the body?

Bug on a window

I posted larger size than normal, so click on the image for the full size for best effect.

This little winged thing was never going to be around for very long, one way or t'other, but I managed to do a camera battery change and stumble on an interesting angle - the second image - before it abruptly flitted off. I think they come up rather well.

As for the type, some sort of dragon or damsel fly?
