Dawn's reflection at declination of earth's tilt +23deg 26min 16sec. Yesterday was +23 25 54, tomorrow will be +23 26 12, a difference of only 4 seconds over the day. The spin seems to pause at maximum for two days. The day after tomorrow it will be +23 25 44, a much bigger difference of 28 seconds (geographical, ie distance seconds).

Look what's atop the Metro


It is nervous and doesn't hang around long.

This is a pied magpie or currawong. Natty, as ravenous in beak and claw as its cousins, but an entirely different disposition. A more agitated sort of bird, far easily spooked than the others. Pieds seem to mount a big challenge every so often for the currawongs territory. Their brief reign on stolen currawong territory down along Victoria St a couple of years ago is well documented.
