Birds on a curved iron roof

Did you hear the one about the pigeons, the ibis and the magpie? They are watching a small morsel slide irretrievably down the steep curve of the roof near the bottom left of shot. The lofty ibis has already given up; the nonchalant pigeons are keenly watching from a safe distance, but the magpie is still slip sliding down, reluctant to abandon it.

It leaps into the air but the morsel has gone to earth.

So it flies up and lands among the others, acting all cranky, causing them to scatter.

The magpie asserts its dominance along the top. Soon it gets among them and harries them off. Then it sings and dances, always moving, throat feathers fluffed out. It has all sorts of moves and body shapes to accompany full throated shrieks.

Always a pleasure to get shots of this avian whirlwind.

A familiar flame

What's this?

Surely a herald?

There weren't many reflections at the height of summer with the sun at its most south easterly. As the sun swings back to the north the reflections are coming back.
